Do you feel like no matter how much effort you put into your fitness and nutrition, you find it hard to stay consistent?

 
If you've done a variety of nutrition or fitness challenges, programmes or routines in the past and haven't been able to make them stick, you're not alone. Habit change can be tough work! But there's good reason...

To develop new health habits, we need to rewire our brain by unravelling old habits, while also at the same time creating new ones.

When we do something new, our brain connects neurons (brain cells) by laying down a pathway between them that helps identify the task we've just done. Each time we repeat that task, the pathway is reinforced and grows stronger.

If we repeat the task often enough, the pathway becomes so strong the task begins to feel super easy - automatic. Think back to when you first learned to brush your teeth or tie your shoes! It's tricky at first but we get there by practicing, and the more opportunities we get to practice, the easier it gets.
