The Lifestyle Balance Pie Chart
So many of us struggle with finding a sense of balance in our lives. Especially as busy women in a modern society, it's become the norm to be 'superwoman' - everything to everyone. The worker, the carer, the mother, the lover, the wife, the social butterfly... Each role adds pressure to our already busy lifestyle and pulls us in all directions - often away from having the space and time to listen to our own needs.

Here's an exercise to help you figure out where you're at, and what to start with.
The Lifestyle Balance pie chart
Grab a piece of paper, draw a big circle. This symbolises your day-to-day life; create a pie chart using the most important things to you and draw segments to symbolise how much of your time you spend on those things.
These labels could include:
- Career/Work
- Home life
- Health and fitness
- Recreation and hobbies
- Friends
- Family
- Relationship/Romance
- Personal growth
- Self care
Larger pieces of the pie show where you're spending the most time and energy. Smaller pieces show where you're spending the least.
If any areas are taking over or other areas aren't featuring that much in your life, it doesn't necessarily mean something needs changing. Are you happy with your results? Do you want anything to change? Is it reflecting my true priorities and values? Is there too much on my plate? Where are the gaps? Are any pie pieces missing?
Don't over-analyse your pie too much, this is simply a great visual tool to help you see how you're spending your time and help you identify whether there are areas you would like to work on changing.
